My picks for MVP this year. You will notice that Brock Purdy is not on this list. I kept my bias at bay (I still think he has a good shot at it if the Niners do well this season. Let me know what you guys think.
·Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens, QB) Jackson enters the season as the betting favorite after another outstanding campaign where he was the MVP runner-up, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 41 touchdowns, with nearly 1,000 rushing yards as well. Surrounded by a dynamic offense, Jackson’s dual-threat ability makes him a perennial favorite if he stays healthy and leads the Ravens deep into the playoffs. Having Henry in the back pocket does not hurt!
·Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills, QB) The reigning MVP, Allen led the Bills to consistent success with his strong arm and mobility. Coming off a career-best season, he remains one of the front-runners thanks to the Bills’ high-powered offense and his proven ability to rack up both passing and rushing stats. I love this guy.
·Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals, QB) Burrow bounced back from injury with elite numbers, nearly 5,000 passing yards and over 40 touchdowns last season. As long as he stays healthy and the Bengals remain in playoff contention, Burrow’s standing as a consistent statistical leader keeps him well within the MVP discussion.
·Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs, QB ) Mahomes, a previous two-time MVP, continues to be among the favorites every season. His consistency and the Chiefs’ perennial contender status keep his odds high, and a high-volume passing attack ensures he will again post eye-catching numbers.
·Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders, QB) Daniels, the second-year quarterback, is the fastest-rising candidate, backed by strong rookie numbers and improved offensive weapons. If he takes another step forward and leads the Commanders to a playoff run, he could make a historic MVP case—a rare feat for such a young player.
·HONORABLE BROCK PURDY MENTION: Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers, QB)
The quarterback position remains dominant in the MVP race, and these five are projected to have both the individual performance and team success necessary for serious MVP consideration. Betting odds and expert predictions as of summer 2025 overwhelmingly favor this group—though an outstanding season from another contender could always shake up the race.
